Santa Ana : Prosecution Rests Case in Kraft Murder Trial
The prosecution in the Randy Steven Kraft murder trial closed its case Wednesday with testimony by a toxicologist on the levels of alcohol and drugs found in the blood of Kraft’s 16 alleged victims.
The trial will recess until Jan. 9, when the defense is to begin its case.
During the week of Dec. 14, Kraft’s attorneys are expected to argue at a hearing before the judge that some or all of the charges against Kraft should be dismissed for lack of evidence.
Kraft, 43, was arrested May 14, 1983, after two California Highway Patrol officers stopped him on Interstate 5 in the Mission Viejo area for a traffic violation and found a dead Marine in his front seat.
