A Tough Loss for USC, in Quite a Few Ways

Share

I was at the USC-Notre Dame game Saturday. In 1921, Notre Dame beat Nebraska, 7-0. As the story goes, when the Nebraska coach got back to Lincoln he complained to the press that his team had more first downs and yardage. Rockne heard about it and sent him a telegram:

“If you want to play for first downs, let me know.”
