Local News in Brief : Burbank Bookmaking Raid Leads to 3 Arrests
Three men were arrested Saturday for allegedly running a bookmaking operation in Burbank that handled about $1 million a week in illegal bets. Los Angeles County Sheriff Department detectives arrested Scott Anderson, 26, of West Hills; Ronald Pape, 43, of Burbank, and Edward Gray, 32, of Redondo Beach on suspicion of bookmaking, authorities said. A 6-week investigation also culminated in the seizure of four computers used in the operation and $4,500 in cash during the raid at a Burbank apartment.
