Bonita : Teacher Contract Ratified
The Bonita Unified School District board voted this week to ratify the 1988-89 contract between the district and its teachers.
The agreement, which was ratified by Bonita teachers Nov. 18, ends 4 years of volatile contract negotiations. The teachers staged two walkouts during that time to protest the district’s refusal to meet their demands.
Under the 1-year agreement, all 360 Bonita teachers will receive a 6% salary increase this school year, retroactive to Oct. 1.
The settlement also increases annual fringe benefits for teachers from $2,856 to $3,412.
