Two young men have been arrested in connection with the Sept. 21 slaying of a woman in the living room of her ransacked condominium, police reported.

Sgt. Ed Petrick said two officers from the San Diego Police Department’s special response team, armed with submachine guns, assisted eight other officers in arresting Tamafua Trillas, 22, of San Diego, who was considered an armed and dangerous fugitive. “We knew for sure Trillas would be armed,” Petrick said.

Trillas, who was armed with a semiautomatic handgun, was arrested without incident at 12:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the Sun Coast Inn in the 3800 block of Dalbergia Court, Petrick said.

Trillas was taken to the County Jail downtown and booked on suspicion of murder, a jail clerk said. He is to be arraigned today.

The identity of the other suspect could not be released because he is a juvenile. The 17-year-old was arrested at 25th and Market streets and taken to Juvenile Hall, where he also is being detained on suspicion of murder.

The killing of Maria Nguyen Bradley, 27, took place in her condominium in the 4500 block of Collwood Boulevard. Bradley, who was suspected of dealing drugs, was shot in the head with her hands tied behind her back in what police believe was a drug-related robbery.
