Tamafua Trillas, 22, pleaded not guilty to a charges of slaying Marie Bradley, 27, and wounding David Guerney, 28.
The two were shot Sept. 21 in the woman’s Collwood Boulevard-area apartment near San Diego State University.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Gregg McClain said the assailant put pillows over both victims’ heads and fired. Bradley’s apartment was ransacked.
San Diego Municipal Judge Charles Patrick set a bail review hearing for Tuesday and a preliminary hearing for Dec. 22.
A 17-year-old boy suspected of taking part in the shootings was arrested Tuesday, and a detention hearing will be held today in Juvenile Court. McClain said he will seek to have the teen tried as an adult.
