A U.S. military helicopter participating in maneuvers crashed in northern Honduras, killing all five Americans aboard, U.S. Embassy spokesman Charles Barclay said. The CH-47 Chinook was based at Palmerola Air Base north of Tegucigalpa, the Honduran capital. Barclay said that names of the victims will not be made public until their relatives are notified. He added that the Chinook was flying a supply mission and taking part in joint Honduran-U.S. military exercises. U.S. military authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
