Doodlin Wins at Los Alamitos
Doodlin continued her domination of the West Coast filly-and-mare division Friday night at Los Alamitos with her second victory in a row since a 4-month layoff.
Sent off as the 2/5 favorite, Doodlin was sent to the front immediately by Rick Kuebler from the outside post. Under pressure on the lead the entire mile, first from longshot Viewfield Lass, then from second favorite Annie Oakleaf, Doodlin held on for the victory.
Owned by The Gusty Stable and trained by Jim Salerno, Doodlin has won 25 of her 39 career starts for earnings of $216,531.
Doodlin paid $2.80, $2.40 and $2.20. The exacta coupling Doodlin to Annie Oakleaf paid $8. Annie Oakleaf paid $3.80 to place and $2.20 to show. Joliette paid $2.40 to show.
