Planning Committees

As co-chairman of the Growth Management Task Force of the Los Angeles Headquarters City Assn., I look forward to Sam Hall Kaplan’s insight into community planning advisory committees.

These committees are appointed by local councilmen, serve for unspecified periods of time and act as advisory committees only.

I agree that an “us and them” attitude is prevalent in the development process, but do the community planning boards, in their current organization, solve any of those concerns? Or do they continue to add to the hurdles developers face?
