Church’s Fried Chicken, embroiled in a battle to prevent a hostile takeover by Popeyes Famous Fried Chicken & Biscuits, said it would immediately close 120 of its stores, where losses have totaled $7.4 million in the past year. The closings would allow for $22 million to $27 million in writeoffs for this fiscal year.
