USAir has appealed to the National Mediation Board for a recount of an election in which the Teamsters narrowly claimed victory to represent 3,700 fleet service workers in 100 U.S. cities. The airline also asked the board to reconsider an earlier decision that prevented voting by a number of other employees, presumed to support management against the union.
