Oil Fouls Sydney Beaches

SYDNEY, Australia — A 2 1/2-mile-long oil slick forced closure of five of Sydney’s main tourist beaches, and the thick globules bore down Sunday on beaches farther south, harbor authorities said. Officials said the oil came from a passing tanker.
