A Pacoima gang member who was shot and seriously injured by members of his own gang has been arrested on a parole violation, Los Angeles police said Thursday.

Willie King, 22, recovering at an undisclosed hospital from gunshot wounds to his hip, leg and arm, was arrested Wednesday. He had been paroled after being in prison for a 1985 conviction on assault with a deadly weapon. When he recovers, he will be held in County Jail without bail, police said.

King was shot Monday morning by two fellow members of the Crips gang who broke into his apartment in the San Fernando Gardens public housing project. Police said the gunmen believed that King had given detectives information that led to the arrests of two other Crips in a fatal shooting of an innocent bystander Dec. 16 at the Panorama Mall.

Police said King had not given them vital information in the case, but he was questioned and his apartment was searched 2 days after the mall shooting. Detectives said that during the search they found a gun that led to the parole violation arrest.

A 16-year-old boy and Otis Thomas, 22, both of Sepulveda, were arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of King. Roger Leon White, 22, and William Stalling, 18, both of Pacoima, have been charged in the mall shooting in which Sergio Alpuche, 18, of Van Nuys, was killed.
