Wasn’t Heart Attack, Reynolds’ Doctor Says
Coach Jerry Reynolds of the Sacramento Kings, who collapsed and lost consciousness during his team’s victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at Sacramento Tuesday night, did not suffer a heart attack, according to his doctor, and could be released from the hospital this afternoon.
The Kings’ team physician, Dr. James Castles, said Wednesday that Reynolds, 44, “shows no evidence of a heart attack” in tests conducted so far, and that he would be sent home if his final scheduled heart test, a treadmill study, shows normal results.
“He’s fine,” said Reynold’s secretary, Mimi Johnson. “He sounds well. He says the doctors we’re saying it’s just a little bit of hyperventilation. He hasn’t been eating well. He hasn’t been sleeping well. It just all caught up with him.”
