In Brief : Tyson, Givens at Movies Together
Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and his estranged wife, Robin Givens, may have spent the past few months trading insults and lawsuits, but they spent Christmas Eve together at a movie, a newspaper reported today.
The New York Post reported in today’s editions that the pair sat side by side Saturday night in a Studio City, Calif., movie house watching “Hellbound Hellraiser II,” a horror movie.
The Post said a source familiar with the boxer’s daily activities confirmed the movie meeting and said Tyson promoter Don King had opposed the reunion.
“Mike was with her, but there won’t be a reconciliation,” the Post quoted the source as saying. “The events are bizarre, but this wasn’t a wonderful experience for Mike.”
The Post also said the couple’s divorce settlement is almost worked out.
The newspaper said the deal will allow each to keep what they have, with Tyson getting the Bernardsville, N.J., mansion, Givens keeping the California house she owned before the marriage and Givens also keeping about $1.5 million she took from one of Tyson’s bank accounts.
