Sheila Smith led Murray State (9-2) with 23 points.

UC San Diego’s women’s basketball team avenged Friday’s 31-point loss to Millikin of Illinois with a 67-60 nonconference victory at Triton Gym.

Jill Koster’s 15 points led the Tritons, Beth Koenig added 13 and Tracy Ragatz had 11, including two from 3-point range.

The Tritons used full-court pressure defense to shut down Millikin’s outside shooting, which they weren’t able to do in last week’s consolation final loss (79-48) of the UCSD tournament. May Sanders led Millikin with 20 points.

Millikin (8-6) led, 32-28, at halftime, but UCSD (7-4) took the lead with 10 minutes to go in the second half.
