Dolphins Rout Shark, Save Life, Surfer Says

SYDNEY, Australia —
A teen-age surfer credited dolphins with saving his life Tuesday by chasing off an attacking shark.
The shark took a large chunk out of the 17-year-old’s surfboard, then tore into his abdomen during the attack off Ballina on the New South Wales coast. Then a group of dolphins chased the shark away, the youth said.
