Arcadia : Trash Bin Law Introduced
The City Council has introduced an ordinance requiring operating permits for trash bins used at construction sites.
Two automobile accidents have been caused in the past three months because of bins with inadequate reflectors or improper placement in the street, Police Chief Neal Johnson said.
Under the proposed ordinance, the permits would be valid for three weeks, but building officials could grant a 1-week extension. Bins may be prohibited on certain streets, such as Holly Avenue during the horse racing season at Santa Anita race track.
