Road Project Benefits Seen

Share

Your article, “Growth Foes in Chino Hills, Diamond Bar Forge Alliance,” was insightful and well written in many respects. (Times, Dec. 18.)

But you neglected to mention one very serious existing traffic problem that would be eased by extending Grand Avenue. This is the heavy flow of traffic over Temple Avenue, through the Pomona community of Phillips Ranch and into Chino Hills over Scenic Ridge Drive.

The residents of Phillips Ranch have a strong desire to see Grand Avenue extended and have been assured that it will not be delayed. In addition, the residents of Scenic Ridge Drive in Chino Hills have made their displeasure with the current situation known. It is a selfish and petty group that insists that the extension be delayed. It is a necessary change, has been “on the books” for years and needs to be completed as soon as possible.

The residents of Diamond Bar should be devoting their efforts to getting additional streets built, not delaying something that has taken too long to get to this stage.

I wonder how many of the residents complaining in Diamond Bar are car-pooling or taking the bus.
