A baby who doctors determined was no more than 15 minutes old was found in a shopping bag on the steps of a Polk Gulch apartment building, San Francisco police reported. Officers were called to 922 Post Street by building residents. The baby, described by Officer David Ambrose as “alive and very, very young,” was taken to San Francisco General Hospital.
