LOCAL : Santa Monica Armored Car Held Up
</i>
An armored car guard was held up shortly before 11 this morning outside a Bank of America near the Santa Monica Place Mall, Santa Monica police said. The robbers were believed to have fled, with an unknown amount of money, in a 1984 Chevrolet, possibly a white Monte Carlo.
An ambulance was summoned because someone was reportedly Maced during the robbery at 1301 Fourth St., police said. It was not known if the incident was connected with a series of more than a dozen armored car guard holdups during the last year.
