NCR Corp.’s 1988 profit rose almost 5% to a record $439.3 million, compared to the previous year. Revenue for the year grew 6% to a record $5.98 billion. Dayton, Ohio-based NCR, which makes and sells business information-processing systems, said the results were due in part to strong gains in overseas orders, especially in the Pacific and Latin America/Middle East/Africa marketing groups.
