McDonnell Douglas’s Delta II rocket has been chosen by GE American Communications Inc. to launch and orbit its Satcom C-5 satellite from Cape Canaveral, Fla., in the second quarter of 1991. This is the eighth commercial contract for the Delta vehicle. The Delta II is manufactured by McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Co. in Huntington Beach, with final assembly of the rocket at Space Systems’ plant in Pueblo, Colo.
