Local News in Brief : Santa Ana : Man Killed in Crash on Artesia Freeway
A Santa Ana man died after the car he was driving Saturday night struck a freeway divider in Bellflower, authorities said.
The 34-year-old victim was thrown from the car. He was traveling west on the Artesia Freeway east of Lakewood Boulevard when his car struck the center divider, crossed all the lanes and went off the road, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Monty Keifer.
The man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was dead at the scene, Keifer said.
Officers were trying to determine the reason for the accident, which happened at 10:50 p.m. There were no passengers in the car and no other vehicles involved.
The victim’s name was not released pending notification of his family.
