TRAFFIC FATALITY AND INJURY RATES
Orange County’s annual ratio of traffic fatalities per 100 miles of road increased 19% between 1982 and 1987 (the most recent full year for which information is available). The injury rate, however, grew at a more dramatic pace, 30%. Here’s the county trend for fatalities and injuries as well as a 1987 comparison to the contiguous counties:
