From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports

Two juveniles in a stolen car led officers on a chase from Santa Ana to Los Angeles early this morning before the car spun out of control on Century Boulevard and they surrendered, authorities said.

A Santa Ana police office patrolling in the 2000 block of Southwood Street about 2:45 a.m. saw two youths in a 1987 Hyundai that had been reported stolen from Irvine earlier in the evening, said Santa Ana police spokeswoman Maureen Thomas. The youths ignored the officer’s attempt to stop them, drove west on Warner Avenue and headed north on the San Diego Freeway, Thomas said.

After a high-speed, 30-minute chase, the car spun out of control as it exited at Century Boulevard. No one was injured, and the car was not damaged. The youths, both from Santa Ana, were arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, evading arrest and reckless driving, Thomas said. They were held at Orange County Juvenile Hall.
