Local News in Brief : Countywide : Public’s Views Sought on Transportation Plan
The public is invited to attend a workshop Wednesday night to voice opinions about a 20-year master plan of transportation improvements being prepared by the Orange County Transportation Commission.
The workshop will be from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the Ruby Gerontology Center on the east side of the Cal State Fullerton campus.
The 20-year plan is being developed in part as the basis for asking voters countywide to approve a local sales tax for transportation improvements. However, the amount of the proposed county sales tax and the date for a tax election have not been determined.
A prototype of the 20-year plan developed last year by a consultant working for the commission identified potential projects that would cost $19 billion, nearly $8 billion more than projected revenues.
Additional information about the Cal State Fullerton workshop is available from Melanie Lane at the commission offices, (714) 541-7850.
