Kevin O’Connell, Channel 2’s weatherman since 1985, is gone with the wind. KCBS-TV news director Erik Sorenson said O’Connell had been looking into other TV projects for some time, and had asked about working both at Channel 2 and elsewhere. “Unfortunately, the demand of our newsroom made such an arrangement impossible,” Sorensen said. Steve Rambo, who gives the weather word on the 5 p.m. newscast, has taken over O’Connell’s spot on the 11 p.m. news.
