Local News in Brief : Orange : Unidentified Man Killed Trying to Cross Street
An unidentified Latino man was struck and killed by a car as he tried to walk across Esplanade Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
The man, who was between 20 and 30 years old, carried no identification and was declared dead at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana shortly after the 3:36 p.m. accident, Police Sgt. Stan Gabel said.
The driver of the car was uninjured and was not cited, Gabel said.
The driver was going north on Esplanade just north of Washington Avenue when her Toyota Celica struck the man, who was walking east across the street, Gabel said. The accident remains under investigation.
