The unification of boxing’s middleweight championship has been tentatively set for July 8 at the Las Vegas Hilton.
There are currently three middleweight champions--Iran Barkley of the World Boxing Council, Sumbu Kalambay of the World Boxing Assn., and Michael Nunn of the International Boxing Federation. Nunn and Kalambay will fight Mar. 25 at Las Vegas. Barkley will face Roberto Duran on Feb. 24 in Atlantic City.
According to promoter Bob Arum, all four fighters have agreed to a contract that calls for the two winners to meet in July.
