Susan Sarandon will play the title character in United British Artists’ “My Old Sweetheart,” based on Susanna Moore’s best-seller and filming in Hawaii in the fall. The story concerns a young woman recalling and coming to terms with her unusual upbringing on the island. Michael Laughlin directs Moore’s screenplay, Richard Johnson produces. . . . .

Tim Robbins will climb Carolco’s “Jacob’s Ladder” for director Adrian Lyne in March. The original screenplay by Bruce Joel Rubin concerns a Vietnam soldier who sees his life flash forward as a result of a mysterious combat experiment.
