A Municipal Court judge in Oakland has cited The Tribune newspaper and one of its reporters for contempt for refusing to turn over notes of an interview with an informant whose tips reportedly led to the arrest of a reputed drug kingpin and two associates on suspicion of murder. Judge Carol A. Corrigan ordered reporter Harry Harris and the newspaper to pay fines of $1 a day until they turn over the notes, but she stayed the fines pending appeal. Harris’ interview with an informant allegedly led to the arrest of Emanuel Lacy and two other men on suspicion of wounding a rival drug dealer and killing the dealer’s girlfriend. Attorneys for the three suspects claim Harris’ notes would exonerate them. Harris denies this.
