Airline Perks Continue

Pan Am will continue to offer perks to ticket buyers who fly round trip to Europe.

If the flight is completed by April 30, travelers can get coupons to buy two tickets for the price of one to any Pan Am destination in the Caribbean, Mexico or the continental United States.

The coupon flight, however, must be Monday through Thursday between May 15 and Dec. 15, 1989. Blackout periods are around Labor Day and Thanksgiving.

After making the European round trip, boarding passes and remaining ticket coupons (photocopies are acceptable) should be sent to the airline’s distribution center. Then it takes about four weeks for the two-for-one certificates to arrive. Certificates are not transferable.

With the European flights comes a free Kemwel rental car for three days with unlimited mileage. However, there is a value-added tax and drop-off charges, if the car is returned to a different station than where it was picked up.

A seven-day advance reservation is required for the complimentary car rental, which can be processed by Pan Am.

The car offer, however, is not available in Israel, Soviet Union, Turkey, Finland, Hungary, Poland or Romania.

The two-for-one offer is subject to foreign government approval (Pan Am flies to 34 European cities), but the airline will honor this promotion even if it is rejected by a foreign nation, as long as the round-trip ticket to Europe has already been bought.

In another offer, Pan Am is permitting children 2 to 11 years to fly free if they are accompanied by adults. The same number of children as adults can fly. For example, a husband and wife can take two children, a single adult one child.

This offer is only for economy class and for flights within the continental United States. Travel has to be completed by March 16.
