Local News in Brief : Mission Viejo : Public Workshop on Transportation Offered
The latest in a series of public workshops on the future of transportation in Orange County is scheduled for Thursday night at Saddleback College.
The workshop, sponsored by the Orange County Transportation Commission, is an opportunity for the public to present ideas about a 20-year master plan of transportation improvements being prepared for eventual use in a sales tax election.
Although no formal decision has been made, county officials are considering a half-cent sales tax for transportation projects. The proposed tax may be contained in a ballot measure that would be placed before voters as soon as November.
The Saddleback College workshop will be held from 7:30 to 10 p.m. in Fine Arts Room 101 at the Mission Viejo campus, 28000 Marguerite Parkway.
A similar workshop is scheduled for Feb. 16 at the Oasis Senior Citizens Center in Corona del Mar.
