Ralph E. Hutchins was named to the new post of executive vice president and chief operating officer of TransTechnology Corp., a Sherman Oaks producer of a range of aerospace, electronic and industrial products. His appointment is effective April 1.

Hutchins, who joined TransTechnology in 1977, most recently served as group vice president of the company’s Breeze-Eastern unit, which makes hoists, fasteners, crane accessories and other equipment for aerospace and industrial markets.
