2 Die in Sun Valley Shootings

Two men were killed and one injured in separate shootings at Sun Valley bars Sunday night and Monday morning, Los Angeles police said.

Agapito B. Cervantes, 27, of North Hollywood was shot about 9 p.m. Sunday after a dispute with an unidentified man at the Tabu Room bar in the 11600 block of Sherman Way, Detective Mike Coffey said. Cervantes died at 9:30 p.m. at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley.

Pedro G. Robles, 20, ran into the bar when he heard the gunfire and was wounded by the gunman as he drove away. Robles, who did not know Cervantes or the gunman, was treated at North Hollywood Medical Center and released.

Coffey said another man was shot and killed in the parking lot of Lalo’s Bar in the 8200 block of San Fernando Road.

He said bar patrons heard what they thought might be gunfire outside about 2 a.m. Monday Several customers left the bar and saw a car speeding away and a man lying in the parking lot.

Coffey said the victim, about 25, had no identification.
