Carrier Who Kept Mail Is Sentenced

PENSACOLA, Fla. —
A former mail carrier whose home was stacked with tons of undelivered mail was sentenced Tuesday to a year and a day in federal prison for failing to deliver two first-class letters.
William Ryan, 59, of Milton, told the court that he felt he could not deliver all of the mail assigned to his rural route and he started leaving a few pieces in the car every day.
