El Cajon police said they believe a 25-year-old unemployed transient arrested last week on an outstanding warrant and for suspicion of possessing stolen property may be linked to 27 other area burglaries.

Teddy Leroy Wilson Jr., who is in custody at the County Jail in El Cajon Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, could be responsible for a series of window-smashing burglaries of businesses along Broadway and Fletcher Parkway that began Dec. 27, police said.

Since his arrest Feb. 8, no similar burglaries have occurred, said a police spokeswoman. Property found in Wilson’s possession at the time of arrest was from one of the businesses that had been burglarized.
