Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, arrived in New York to start a 10-day trip to the United States, the Caribbean and South America. On his private visit to New York he will give a dinner for Americans who studied in Britain. On Saturday and Sunday he is to play polo in Florida. Today, Charles will dine with President Bush at Camp David, Md., after a luncheon in Washington with British Ambassador Antony Acland. He is to spend three days on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia for celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of its independence. Charles’ tour ends in Venezuela, where he will meet the new president, Carlos Andres Perez.
