Pacific 10 Roundup : Lichti Scores 25 to Lead Stanford, 97-71

Todd Lichti scored 25 points and Eric Reveno added 17 to lead No. 17 Stanford over California, 97-71, Thursday night in a Pacific 10 game at Stanford.

Stanford is 20-5 overall and 11-3 in the conference. California fell to 17-9 and 8-6.

Leonard Taylor made 13 of 20 shots from the field and scored 33 points for California. He scored 15 straight points for the Golden Bears in the second half.

Stanford jumped out to a 15-4 lead and led, 46-30, at halftime, paced by 11 points from Lichti.

Stanford scored consistently from inside throughout the game and led by up to 27 points in the second half.

Keith Smith scored 12 points for Cal.

Oregon St. 83, Washington St. 70--Senior guard Eric Knox scored 18 points and sophomore forward Will Brantley added 17 to lead the Beavers over the Cougars in a Pac-10 game at Pullman, Wash.

The Beavers won despite having their leading scorer and rebounder, junior guard Gary Payton, on the bench much of the second half with four fouls. Payton finished with 16 points.

Oregon State, 17-5 and 9-4, has won three in a row and eight of its last nine. The Cougars, 7-15 and 2-11, lost their fourth consecutive game.

The Beavers led, 40-33, at halftime, and then dominated the second half.

Freshman center Brian Paine scored a career-high 20 points for the Cougars. Brian Quinnett, Washington State’s leading scorer, was held to 11 points, eight below his season average.

Washington 78, Oregon 69--Eldridge Recasner scored a game-high 28 points, including five field goals from three-point range, to lead the Huskies over the Ducks in a Pac-10 game at Seattle.

The victory ended a three-game losing streak for the Huskies, 6-8 and 10-13. It was the third-straight loss for the Ducks, 3-10 and 8-15.

Recasner made 9 of 15 shots.
