A 32-year-old woman stabbed her boyfriend in the chest Friday, but he was arrested on suspicion of assault and battery, police said.

Jesus Gomez, 26, of Buena Park and his girlfriend, Debra Green, were at the El Baron Rojo bar on Beach Boulevard in Buena Park when they began arguing about money, Police Officer Rich McMillen said.

Gomez hit Green, McMillen said, and then Green stabbed him once in the chest.

She made a citizen’s arrest and told police that he had been threatening her and her children. Officers arrested Gomez on suspicion of assault and battery and of making terrorist threats, McMillen said.

They also arrested him on an outstanding warrant for drunk driving, McMillen added.

Gomez was listed Friday night in unstable condition at the UCI Medical Center’s jail ward.

His bail was set at $10,000, McMillen said.
