Suspect Jailed in Sexual Attacks
A security guard has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting five women at gunpoint in a park near Los Angeles Harbor College while wearing his uniform to pose as a police officer.
John Michael Rajcok, 28, of Redondo Beach was taken into custody Friday at 190th Street and Inglewood Boulevard by Los Angeles police and was being held in Los Angeles County Jail on on $50,000 bail.
“He would approach young couples in the park and would pass himself off as a police officer,” Lt. Don Irvine said. “He was knowledgeable in police jargon.”
Police say Rajcok approached couples sitting in parked cars and would order the male out of the car at gunpoint and then attack the female. Irvine would not disclose how detectives pinpointed the suspect but said some of the victims have identified him.
The five assaults took place in the evening hours between Dec. 5 and Feb. 2 in Harbor Regional Park on the border of Wilmington and Harbor City. The victims range in age from 16 to 24.
