IN BRIEF : Bruno No Loser in Welcome Home
Frank Bruno flew home today to a hero’s welcome usually more suited for world champions than for runners-up.
Bruno, stopped in the fifth round by Mike Tyson in their world heavyweight title fight in Las Vegas last Saturday, was greeted by well-wishers and reporters as he arrived at Heathrow Airport.
Although battered by Tyson, Bruno has been applauded in his homeland for taking the best shots the champion could give and even staggering the American with a first-round punch.
Newspapers have said that local promoters are trying to arrange a rematch at Wembley Stadium, with a $9-million purse for Tyson as a lure.
