Eastman Kodak Co. will receive an Oscar this year from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for 100 years of contribution to the movie industry. It’s the sixth award for the company, which received its first Oscar in 1931. The company also was awarded Oscars in 1949, 1952, 1968 and 1978 for developments or improvements in motion picture film. The honor will be bestowed at the academy’s scientific/technical awards ceremonies March 19 and will be broadcast as part of the 61st Annual Academy Awards presentation March 29 on ABC.
