$12,000 Stolen From Police Station Locker
Glendale police said this week they are questioning construction workers who were working in an area of the police station where more than $12,000 was stolen last week.
The $12,678 in cash acquired from defendants for bail and evidence was in a locker near the Police Department’s communications center, Police Sgt. Dean Durand said.
It was reported missing on Feb. 20 and last seen intact on Feb. 18, Durand said.
The locker is located in a normally busy area. But in recent weeks the communications center has been closed and several construction crews have been working there installing new plumbing, Durand said.
The cash is the first ever reported stolen inside the police station, Durand said.
