After being hospitalized following a one-car accident near Reston, Va., Clarence Vaughn, a three-year member of the Washington Redskins, was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to obtain a Virginia driver’s license, Fairfax County Police said.

Vaughn was flown by helicopter to Fairfax Hospital after being freed from his car, which had struck a tree early this morning, said police spokeswoman Judy Duff. The 24-year-old defensive back didn’t suffer any serious or life-threatening injuries, Duff said.
