LOCAL : Ramirez Gets 3rd Defense Lawyer
A third defense lawyer was appointed today to assist accused Night Stalker Richard Ramirez’s two other attorneys, one of whom has complained of “nervous exhaustion” because of work overload.
Superior Court Judge Michael Tynan announced the appointment of Los Angeles attorney Ray Clark as the trial was about to resume after a two-week recess. Clark will assist Ramirez’s other attorneys, Daniel Hernandez and Arturo Hernandez, who have been representing the accused serial killer since late 1985. Daniel Hernandez complained last week of suffering from “nervous exhaustion” because of a work overload stemming from the trial.
