Canadian sprinter Desai Williams and a retired world record-holder Chi Cheng of Taiwan, both accused last week of using steroids, have denied the charges.

Williams rejected the allegations made by his former coach, Charlie Francis, at a special Canadian inquiry, saying he always has been drug-free.

Chi Cheng, former sprinter and hurdler who held several world records in the 1960s, said she was shocked by Francis’ charges.
