Williams’ Status Uncertain for Titans in Big West Opener

Cal State Fullerton point guard Wayne Williams shot baskets on the sidelines in practice Wednesday, but his ability to start the Titans’ game against Utah State at 2 p.m. today in the quarterfinals of the Big West Conference tournament remains uncertain.

Williams sprained his right ankle in the second half of the Titans’ victory over Cal State Long Beach Saturday. He has been receiving treatment, and had not practiced at all until Wednesday.

“Right now, we don’t know if he’ll start,” Coach John Sneed said. Sneed said he will decide during pregame warmups whether Williams will start and how much he will play.
