9 Priests, 4 Nuns Make It to the Finish in Marathon
Nine Catholic priests and four nuns were among 19 Catholics to finish the Los Angeles Marathon Sunday, but another 20 or so in the “vocations-promoting” contingent from the archdiocese wilted in the heat over the grueling 26.2-mile course.
Father George Aguilera of Hacienda Heights led the males with a time of 3 hours and 17 minutes, and Dominican Sister Mary Sean ran in 4:50.0. Seminarian Felipe Regaldo was timed at 3:21.17. Bishop Carl Fisher ran 8 miles before leaving to catch a plane.
